Early Wailers-Selassie is The Chapel

Post by Don Ragga »

I have an orginal 7 inch record found in the ground a few years back in Ethiopia with no writing on it. From research I learned that it was one of only 25 copies ever pressed by the late Mortimer Plano.

note: its on a compilation released by Danny Simms (I guess he got a hold of a copy and dubbed it) for release.

Does anyone have an idea how much a record like this would be worth if it was auctioned?

Greetz,

This guy wants a lot of money for it:

I don't know what it's worth though...

I always thought this rumour of 25 copies kept in jamaica and 25 sent to Ethiopia was a big big joke... I saw so many copies on ebay...

oh really! mine looks totally different from the ones on ebay. mine really looks old (it was practically dug out of the dirt). It also has the rasta colours faintly on it, but no writing at all such as the others on ebay which I believe may not be originals at all. I am still seeking documentation as to how the original 25s may have looked. If they were indeed a 'white blank lable' or have colours like mine.

If you find anything, please share. Thx.
