Roots & Culture Sound Systems

Post by Pluie »

Hey !

I'm desperately looking for sound systems playing only or mostly roots (i mean no english dub or new roots, but roots from the 70's or early 80's).

If you know some of them in Europa and especially France, i would be grateful...

Any answer welcome !

In Geneva (Goulet 25), every month, there's a dance called "Roots corner". It's strictly roots and culture from back in the days. I played there last month, and it was really great, with an audience who enjoys this kind of music.
And if my friend Litelet starts selecting too, you can't go wrong with him neither, for he's a serious collector...
In this part of Switzerland, I only know him and me playing strictly vintage roots. In France, there's a nice man from Paris called Mallem. He plays strictly wicked tunes too.

Great to hear that there are selectors all over Europe who stick to strictly vintage music ! (I'm not dissing the others of course, but new roots or modern UK roots just ain't my cup of tea)
