Wayne Wade

Post by Chris »

I'm a big fan of the Wayne Wade tracks on the Yabby U, Jesus Dread compilation. Does anyone know if Black is Our Colour has been re-released, or for that matter any of Wade's 1970's albums?
Regards,
Chris

Thank you for the suggestion, I'd already been to Ernie B's and unfortunately I'm looking for it on CD.
Thanks,

Recently bought "Fire Fire" and, as there is no band info on the back of the album or on the RA site entry, I was interested to know who is playing drums on "Jahova's Rally" - http://www.roots-archives.com/release/3 ... ight=41651

So good and really unusual.

Ites 6anbattle,
I recently got that one too. Mine's a very poor pressing.. the label is off center, very thin wax, etc. I wonder if I have some bogus repress, but I'll check the matrix #'s later. Lots of nice tracks on that one though. Many are on Black Is Our Color as well though...

Hi Jah Chicken

That's interesting. I'll have to have a look at mine tonight. I do rememeber the cover being very "JA". Thick cardboard which doesn't align properly. The sound is excellent though, if not a little crackly.
I bought it new, so I know it is a repress, but it looks very much like albums I bought in the 70s with pock marks on vinyl.
It is on Prophet, although the label does look a little battered and possibly, as you say, is slightly off centre.

Some storming tracks. Classics for me so far are "Jahova's Rally" and "Gang War". Not so sure about "Doctor Bird" though!!!

Actually, the reason I bought "Fire Fire" (as opposed to "Black...") is because I wanted the track "Billy Red". Frustratingly it isn't the version I remember from back in the day.

Do you know another version of Wayne Wade's "Billy Red"? I'd recorded it from the B&B Show. Must have been a 12". Desperately need to track it down.

Hi Jah Chicken

I checked and it is very thick vinyl with the following (from memory) scratched into the runout;

"DSI 125A - Spiderman - Wayne Wade - Fire Fire - Yabby You"
"Now I know the truth and must reveal it unto the youth."
