Ites,
Vinyl First!! I only buy CDs when I want to make a mix for some friends. I have a rather large collection of good and poor quality digital[ized] reggae as well. If I'm going to spend a good amount of money on a record, I will have almost always have a digital copy. Vinyl is always the format to seek! Well.. I guess the master tapes would be nice too

Re: RECORDS OR CD'S
records is my game, cd's are tame. records is what i grew up with until i can't play no more. yeah they take up a lot of space, but the thrill of looking for that certain lp on the shelves, as well as the disco 12"s too. and looking in the boxes for that 7" /45's ahhhhh those vinyl moments hey leggo !!

I must say records!! The sleeve, the label, being able to put your hands on it, change the pitch, crackles, special version, the journey it's been through etc all those things you can't do or have with cd makes the records unique.....i mean when you play a record you actually feel involved.....of course one could think "cd or record, the music comes through your ears the same way"....except that the cd has been remastered.....which is not what we are looking for right? The record was the first mean to spread roots music, let's keep it this way!! Bless!

Yes I! Spot on DUDLEY 1NE!
My vinyl extremism shows no signs of easing.
My collecting bug is still very much out of control.
And last week, feeling pushed for space in my room (with all this vinyl coming in) I took down all my shelves full of CDs (reggae and non reggae) and moved the lot into storage. I'll maybe get them out in 20 years and ebay them to all the misty-eyed CD buffs who won't touch (whatever format is new at the time) in favour of 'good old fashioned warm sounding' CDs.
Music is music, anyway you hear it. And some of what I listen to is streamed from my radio station, at MP3 64K (eeek!), but only because I haven't yet found a record player suitable for a bathroom!
