Re: Live Reggae Albums
Right on jah rumble, the band makes or breaks the live show. the singer may be hot but if the band is lagging, its over. if the singer is wore out, the people are still happy to dance to the groove!
Peter Tosh - Live and Dangerouse in Boston 1976 is irie. the opening band instrumental is one of my alltime favorite grooves. sly robbie al anderson dwight pickney earl lindo and another keyboard plus tosh's guitar is a force to be reckoned with - word sound and power-
Burning Spear - LIVE with aswad backing is rocking for sure.
Dennis Brown's set from the 79 Montreaux festival featuring lloyd parks, bo peep, bubbler, is mighty rough
Uhuru's Tear it Up (1981 again sly and robbie) features the rose-simpson-jones line during their peak

Jahganja,
Right on brother...I feel you on the live stuff... You have the burning spear backed by aswad?? I have been looking for this recording for years now... I just assumed that it was a myth because I could never find it. I would appreciate it if you could give some details about the recording and the set that was played(quality or recording, and song list). And maybe we can even trade for it...I've got some crucials for that one...
