I've just been putting some of my Radio tapes from the 1980s onto CD. I've started with a Tony Williams Rockers FM live mixdown session with the Hi-Tec Crew including Colonel Mike, Sammy Ranks, Sugar D, Leslie Lyrics & Super B. I know we're only supposed to be interested in pre 1985 and this was late 1987 (from memory)but good stuff nevertheless. It was a good quality FM recording. If anyone is interested here's a couple of mp3 samples:

good reggae is good reggae, papa levi and macka b are amongst the best ever in the uk..and the world..its that simple...

of course, theres no replacement for the saxon outernatiuonal crew, they werte the best thats all there is to it..all the crap we get these days too...

I have a different point of view. UK originated fast chat MCing and always had the lead over JA in that respect but it didn't kill Jamaican music. Jamaican music just moved on.
