its also on cd-rom, cheaper than the book would you believe. its a good buy, yes

its deals with 7" but also some 12" i think

there was a book called 'reggae discography" which came out about 23 years ago, long out of print. that was about vinyl albums

hi Ites

do you mean : Reggae Discography , Herman Moter

Minotaurus Projekt, 1983 ???

it's a very good attempt on listing vinyl lps.

it's really a shame that this book is deleted at the moment.

i'd love to find it again, as my copy begins to suffer from so many reads ...

one love

The Hermann Moter book I've been searching for a long time. Would love to have it.

I personally recommend to buy RKR on CD-Rom since it's much easier to use. A fantastic project.

the founder of rkr passed away recently so i'm not sure if the site can help you. maybe amazon has it.

RKR had two founders. One, Robert Shoenfeld, has left this realm - the other one remains - Michael Turner.

Robert also founded his own record label, Nighthawk Records.

I managed to buy some of his records - just a tiny fraction of what must have been an AWESOME collection.

Hi,thanks for all the info.Thats interesting that they owned the NIghtHawk label as well.I have some lp from them.Recently bought the lp Jonestown from Wayne Jarrett and the Morwells- Best Of.

I will have to think about the purchase i have to admitt im more intereseted in refrences of lp and 12".But it does sound like the cd rom would be a good tool regardless.

RKR deals with UK / USA and Jamaican 7" and 12" from the start of the recording of Jamaican material (pre Jamaican pressing facilities etc.) to around 1985 (though a few later pressings appear).
It's excellent, not always entirely correct, compiled by Mike and Robert but with a lot of help from collectors worldwide.

The CDRom is much much more useful than the book , but the book is also joy to have.

It's very sad that Robert has gone, I'd often send him some new or corrected details for the publication, he'd always ofer a good deal more information back the other way, and engage in discussions via e-mail, always inclusive and friendly..
