Watch out, the repressings (and CDs) of Aquarius Dub feature extremely poor sound quality.

And the original, if you can ever find it, is very very expensive.

I have The Message Dubwise by Prince Buster. It has no date on it, but Roots Archives says 1972. I guess that would make it the first ever dub LP. However, I'm guessing it's a typo/misinformation and the real year is '73 or '74. Does anyone know for sure when this came out?

Speaking of Aquarius Dub, has anyone actually seen an original pressing? Because I don't think I have, unless it's the blank/white label one. The second (or third?) pressing from '75 (Uranus) pops up on eBay every now and then, and even that one's going for hundreds of dollars. The real thing must be a $1000 record or something.

Yes, it (Aquarius Dub) has been on ebay a coupe of times or more in the last year - first (I think) pressing.

There are quite a few listings that try to pass off a repress for the original.

An original sold last September in a strong EX condition for almost £800 US.

i wonder if Pleasure Dub and its companion on Treasure Isle are amongst the earliest as well. Message Dubwise by Buster has got some very tasty inst's imo. on a related note, I've noticed some of the Studio One represses come with "dub sides" to 60's ska tracks, if you can believe that. of course a Coxsone version may only be a few dropped vocals, some drum machine overdubs, and heaps of echo-verb.
