Re: Summer reggae returns...
After a short warm summer it's very hot already in Lincolnshire, England.
Sadly, there are still no reggae shows - apart from my radio show that is
And I have no plans to visit JA for vinyl.
In other words: I'm jealous of ya rootsgal!
Have a skanking time at the shows and a crazy time in JA!

I've been to South Africa Rootsgal.
Prepare for a shock. Parts of it have such a huge gap between rich and poor that it reminded me of Louisiana (and Texas, and Arizona, and California, and Nevada, and New Mexico) (joke)-(ish).
Just a rich veneer over a very poor underclass.
On my visits I stayed always in a private house. I used to have long chats with the black 'servants' at the house, much to the disgust and amazement of the white family.
But friends of mine always stayed in a hotel. On the last day of one trip, the hotel lobby got held up. It resulting in the death by gunshot of two robbers, one guest and the security guard was shot and wounded (before he shot the two robbers dead).
But that's Jo-burg for you...

Re: Summer reggae returns...
Thx for posting the link to your radio show. Is it 24/7?
Also, I was told that the TAX in the UK keeps live shows away. Any truth to that? I do not live there, but it came up in conscious chat room awhile back...thx for any input on this~

What about Capetown?
I know about the poverty which is one reason for the trip.
Just like every single time I go to Jamaica, I carry a huge overweght duffle(And yes I have to pay extra for the weight) of school supplies and shoes, clothes that are "gently used" so I don't hafta pay tax.
Gonna do the same in South Africa...I am no Oprah Winfrey building a school, but small steps do make a difference and give some hope...
THX for the info...if ya think of any hotels in Capetown, shoot me an email or a PM here is fine.
