Vulcans-star trek

Post by jahganja7 »

greetings, i recently recieved a burnt copy of this album, great early roots with a space twist on it. anyone know who plays the nicely tweaked moog keyboard? are there other albums featuring this same spacey effect. thanks, much love.

According to the back cover on the LP, the moog is played by Ken Elliot. Joe Sinclair on keyboard.

As for recommendations, I guess you could check out the other records they've played on:

However, I doubt they're anything similar. By the way, I remember reading somewhere that one or both of these guys used to play in psych/prog bands or something before they got into reggae. I guess you can hear shades of Silver Apples or Hawkwind in there. You could look into stuff like that too, if you're open minded.

some nice early bunny lee rhythms, the moog was pretty big in the early 70's instrumentals. it's good relaxing reggae music.

I like The vulcans - Star Trek Lp a lot!
it's a great mix of roots and sci fi moogyness.
I collect prog rock vinyl also
so this is the best of both worlds for a roots/dub head like myself.
