HELP ME AM CONFUSED

Post by dubaddikt »

I have come to realise that there are two issues of "Scientist-High priest of Dub" with totally different tracks except one. Both are 10 track albums bearing the same song titles.
My question is which is which?

The first one i know contain the dub tracks of whole B-side of Zimbabwe Dread - earthman connection and the tune Hail him in Dub must have been done by Earl sixteen and i quote some words"She must be crazy ,she is a miserable woman...." and i consider this album a killer one than the other.

The Second one has Dub for "How long by Z-Dread" as Hail him in Dub and this contain some tracks from Prince far I's "Megabit 1922 Dub"

Both these are High priest of Dub and bearing the same song titles and i believe one was out of mistake. In fact this is a second time to observe this.

Could someone enlighten me on this.

The way I've understood it is that the LP-version isn't the same as the CD-version. So if you've got the LP you've got the original mix and if you've got the CD then it's the new mix.

High preist of Dub (Kingdom KVL9011) has never been released on CD.

Are we talking same album cover artwork with different tracks that have been the same titles on both albums.

If that is the case then I would imagine it is a cock up at the pressing plant.

I had the same problem with Augustus Pablo "International Rockers". Both volumes in the correct cover artwork and labelled correctly had the tracks to volume one both.

When I spoke to Greensleeve records they said it had been an error which had occurred whilst they were being pressed.

why cant they just leave well enough alone instead of rearranging tracks and generally pissing us all about? high priest is a classic no need for new tracks

Rootsman; the CD-version is on Tamoki Wambesi if my memory serves me right. Same artwork and titles, different mixes. It was a thread about this on Blood And Fire not long ago.

Kalcidis, I never even realised it was on CD.

Still, it don`t look like a good reissue acording to the above.

Guess i`ll stick with my rip of the original

nice post bassgroove
we need some authenticity about our music, as the world is getting more and more sham and artificial. im so glad i found this thread, which has stopped me writing to tamoki wambesi re these kingdom scientist albums. ive always been very sceptical about roy cousins releases on tamoki as he just uses all his scientist kingdom dubs over and over again and credits it to a conveniently dead prince fari...obscene disgrace.
now i find shamoki are pissing about with top dubs and it really pisses me off..thanks for a fine post bassgroove

Off the top of my head I have the following Tamoki Wambesi releases and all are superb;
Earl Sixteen - Songs For A Reason
Prince Far I - Cry Freedom Dub
Royals - Ten Years After
Royals - Pick Up The Pieces
Winston Jarrett - Wise Man

How about Baba Dread - Earthman Connection? Absolutely awesome album.

Actually I am pretty sure you will find that Kingdom license the music from Tamoki Wambesi Dove as opposed to the other way around.
