Re: Dambala
Greetings Horace, is truely great to see you have found this thread and will be great to here some more from you about the band, i'd also love to see you guys get back together maybe for a small tour! probably seems a very long way off but you know alot of the old reggae bands have got back together because of encouragement from record companies trying to promote the older bands. If you do ever get back together please let us know.
Was also wondering if you know of any video footage of the band in existence? i'd really like to find some.......

Yes, it's great to see Horace in the discussion, I called him a few weeks ago and he was still in Guyana, he arrived back last week and I sent him the links for this forum, but it's still very cool, I hope he can provide some more information than I have at this time...and maybe even some good photos...I know he has some...
Horace and I were always very close...he is a very wise man indeed.

Re: Dambala
hi horace
nice to see that you decided to make a sign of life and join this forum which will end up being the meeting point of all those disbanded reggae band members, hopefully, much to the delight of the fans of vintage reggae music.
iam not the one who put this query about the date of release of an album;probably somebody else.
but as i said earlier in this thread,my pro-activeness is motivated by nothing else than the awareness of the tight corner in which what we used to know as live and vintage reggae music has been put, first because of the computerization of music and the slacknesss that occured in the mid 80's to the 90's,much to the detriment of the music and it's uplifting message and purpose.but i live to the hope that a reunion of dambala could be a reality considering the fact that some older band mainly in jamaica(iam thinking about the congoes, abbyssinians and lately wailing souls )have decided to mend the broken pieces and start afresh.the fact that alvin hasn't spoken to gus anyia in 24 years doesn't mean that there is still a bone of contention between them(if there was any at the beginning).iam all the more convinced about that i learn in the wake of this thread that one of my -all- time brit.favourite bands too, black slate came back together.i had never heard about a reunion of black slate.maybe you will tell me more about that rooms.why won't some of you guys based in london, start canvassing among indies or music promoters and former band members for a reunion.iam sure that if this one succeeds, many will follow suit.i would be more pro-active guys had i lived in your part of the hemisphere.brendan whitmore has contributed and took us on trip down memory lane with some background info on talisman, maybe tommorrow one locksley gichie or maurice ellis or winston reedy will crop up and contribute in a thread about cimarons and so on and so forth.as alvin mentioned never say never.time will tell.at least such an event would put dambala on the map as a group that existed in the 70's,that was never given the proper exposure they deserved given their musicianship and talent.
may god bless us so we can see this day
jah bless you all
p.s:rooms i haven't see my"moving forward" and " black on black" by dambala.ybe i will one day see this movie featuring dambala scoring the opening theme
