Heptones: Ting a Ling

Post by kilimanbongo »

I wonder if anyone can help me out - I am trying to get hold of a long version of Heptones' "Ting a Ling" which I heard sometime in the early 80s. I'm not sure if this version was by Heptones themselves or someone else but it was about 8 minutes long and it was fantastic. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Tamlins also did a version of it on a Hawkeye discomix, late 70s/early 80s.

The best version rhythm-wise is maybe the unissued Heptones one which appears on the "Tribute to Peckings" album, which is the one which was dubbed-up an absolute storm on "Juk's Incorporation" (vol 1).

IMHO anyway!
