"Born Free" was it Black Uhuru who sang it or was it Michael Rose ? who was the backing band ?
was it Sly n Robbie, Taxi Gang, or Revolutionaries ?

"born free" was originally recorded by michael rose. don't know who the backing band was. it is included on the trojan 12" box set, and also the auralux compilation "king jammy in roots". black uhuru recorded the same song under the title "willow tree" on the "black sounds of freedom" lp.

I have a 12" version on Attack (tack 7) credited to Michael Rose & Jammy

Recorded 1979 at King Tubbys produced by the Mighty Fatman.

No way! A Black Uhuru tour with Michael Rose singing lead again? That was the greatest reggae band of all time other than the original Wailers. Where are they playing?

don carlos as lead would be origina. everyone would rather see that line up intead, i personally would.

The Michael Rose cut is miles better than the Black Uhuru one imo.
