Have not seen Riddim in book stores since the Stephen Marley cover 2 months ago. Focused on all aspects of reggae music. Good light read on the train. Nothing too indepth but still a heap better than what else is in the magazine racks

As far as I know Riddim's UK/English version will continue, but later this year. Its funny, why use a name which has aleady been used? Riddim was a magazine out of Chicago in the 1980s
The Beat, formerly Reggae & African Beat, has been around since about 1982, features more world beat than reggae now
There was one 'zine put out several years back out of the UK called Step Forward, long deleted now, mainly dub and new roots music
There's Natty Dread and Ragga out of France, but only in French of course
Small Axe is now a web 'zine, Reggae Quarterly ceased about 20 years ago out of Canada, both of them very nice fanzines
Boom Shacka Lacka was a great 'zine out of London, probably the greatest as far as revival articles and features on modern UK and JA roots goes
But other than that, its not much. Dub Missive, Reggae Report, NY Reggae Times, Gargamel, all of those never did much for me, fanzines compared to The Beat which is professional in all what they do, I'd say

There was Reggae Nucleus too, not too good, but respect to all of them for their efforts, it takes a lot to put together a 'zine, that's for sure

Re: reggae/dub/roots magazine
Very hard times for paper publications nowadays.
Many of the magazines I have worked for over many years are really struggling to make ends meet, or have have bombed.
Internet takin' over.
Look out for www.leggorockers.com - reggae-zine coming soon!
