Re: Michael Rose ?
I agree on that, and I add that there is an alternative version recorded by Michael Rose on the same riddim called "Clap the Barber".

Re: Michael Rose ?
I can't knock Black Uhuru ever - no matter what their line-up.
I saw them live at Glastonbury, must have been 1981.
No other band playing there came close to their spiritual vibe. They rocked - period!
Jah, in HIS wisdom, even provided a rainbow across the sky as they praised Jah with musical instruments and voices.
Sheer magic.
So I don't deal with this "Black Uhuru without Don Carlos = Lame" stuff, No I.
Give Michael Rose a break. He's head and shoulders above so many other 'stars'.
When are they playing live? And where? I wanna hear that vibe again!

Hi,i received a press promo email .They had a bio of Uhuru in it with a list of 5-6 dates in Us,Can.One of them being Montreal.Unfortunately i have deleted that email.I will see if i can get another 1 sent.
I as well am a Rose fan,One of my favourites is Sellasie Showcase as a solo and for Uhuru Sinsemilla or Showcase.

When I saw them at Glastonbury, we were delayed getting in by the Babylons at the gate (who failed to find my 'cargo' despite their search).
When we finally got in, we were led to the stage by the booming sounds of "I love King Sellasie-I"
What an unforgettable moment.

One more question about this tune: (Born Free)
isn't it the first tune recorded by Prince Jammy?

Killer organ on the original, Michael Rose solo version is the best IMO. I think produced by Fatman and Jammy's was engineer. Just love the organ and vocals.
