I've recently been given a box-full of old reggae/dub 12" singles and albums and am attempting to catalog them.
I have a High Note 12"-45 (DSR9205/DSR9206) produced by Sonia Pottinger:
Side A: Alton Ellis doing "Breaking Up" & Papa Ritchie with a version called "Phantom"
Side B: Supersonics "Breaking Up Dub"
Nice old rocksteady rhythm.
Does anyone know what year this was recorded? I haven't found the year for this vinyl posted anywhere on the web and I can't find anything on the label or scratched on the inside vinyl. Hoping you good people could help me out.

Well, Alton Ellis re-cut Breaking Up for his 25th anniversary lp celebrating his time in the music business, that was on Sky Note, a Sonia Pottinger label, I believe. That was about 1985, so it's possible that the 12" you've got is from that time. The DSR matrix number refers to Dynamic Sound Recordings as the manufacturers (pressers) of the disc.

to me it sounds like a late 70's remix.
