Factually...
#3 - Stalag aka Stalag 17 (Ansell Collins produced by Winston Riley ) - 215 occurences.
I would say the numbers are 98% correct, give or take a few obsurities.

Re: Top Jamaican Rhythms Occuring
Let's not forget the relicks/variations on original riddims too. Pick of the bunch for me is the Highway Patrol riddim - a truly mesmerizing and haunting relick of the Police In Helicopter riddim.(Would the latter feature in your top 100 Collu? Mind you given you said yours was compiled in June '04 many more tunes will have come out on these riddims - and relicks/variations on these - since then. What was your source for these stats Collu? 52 'occurences'of the Drifter riddim doesn't sound right, I reckon Mudie himself was responsible for at least this many). Back to the Highway Patrol riddim - 6 artists - Dennis Brown, Cornell Campbell, Sugar Minott, Sluggy Ranks, Junior Delgado and Mykal Roze (yet another spelling of the former Black Uhuru member's name, he's got to top the list of artists with different spellings of their name!) cut tunes on this riddim, all released in '97 on the Mac Dada label. Whoever crafted the riddim deserves serious respect. Anyone know who it was ? I've got all the cuts except Sluggy's (as Daniel Day Lewis said "I will find you")and they all impress. Vintage JA music from the period Roots Archives honours is my first love too but every now and then since then something has come along which matches the masters that inspire us all. This was one such case.

Surprised "Mad Mad Mad" Alton Ellis isn't in there. It was massively versioned in the 70s & 80s.

Re: Top Jamaican Rhythms Occuring
Hi,sorry for the delayed:
#20-Mad Mad(Alton Ellis produced by Coxson Dodd) - 95 occurences.
-28,000 riddim tunes analyzed,of wich 20,000 were identified,there were 3 main sources and 4 researchers.Completed 6/2004
*and yes acoording to one of the researchers ,some loosely adadpted variation of riddims might not have been included in the study.

Re: Top Jamaican Rhythms Occuring
How about naming the tracks ???
Guess that may involve to much work time wise.
Interesting thread though.

I would say double the counts for "real rock" and "stalag"
