Hi ton1

"Just one song : "Little things" by Hemsley Morris"

Just sat down and listened to that followed by "Bigger Things" by Tommy McCook. Thanks for the heads-up on that. Absolutely superb.

Yes ! Thanks 6anbatte, the whole Safe Travel compilation is a killer, i had it but i can't find it right now (but "bigger things" is on my computer anyway).

I forgot to mention "Safe Travel" (the song) by Phill Pratt and I guess Hemsley Morris too.

Phil Pratt is a wonderful rocksteady producer (as talented as the Duke for sure) and singer as well, i was told recently he was running a restaurant in London and i hope someone is going to ask him for unreleased material from back in the days, i'm pretty sure he owns some golden oldies to share.

Well folks, what an illuminating thread!Rocksteady is my bag,but I`ve not asked any questions about it `cos I assumed it was out of the timespan of RootsArchive`s remit!
I got home from work @ midnight last night, read the thread and my heart was lifted to hear from likeminded people out in the ether who love this style.Rocksteady only lasted for a couple of years but the output was incredible.Keep up the good work,Archivists.

Recommended,IMO,
BOBBY AITKEN PRESENTS ROCKSTEADY-Original And Red Hot(1966/67).
So good, I bought the Ltd. Edition LP first ,then the CD, so as to keep it in good nick.
Best tracks- ROY MAN-Music Man
KEN PARKER-Search Is Over
(This track I dedicate to my wife ScaryMary)

If you like emotion in your music,Rocksteady Rules.

@ Jah Glu
I mentioned him earlier for "Reach out", i would add the well known but essential "Do I worry" and its version by Scotty "I worry".

I cannot believe so much incredible work came out of such a short period of time. What was it? 2 years?
