bunny Wailer's New Releases

Post by Jason Allen »

Hi All,

Bunny has recorded 3 new albums. I noticed the one called Rub a Dub is listed at Ernie B's. Has anyone heard this new material? Is it good? The title implies it may be dancehall music and I am wondering if it's up to Bunny's old standard.
I liked everything from Blackheart Man to Rule Dancehall but have been totally disappointed since.

Any help would be great.

Hi
I haven t listened to them, but I've seen the movie "made in Jamaica', which contains several song by Bunny Wailer and was very disappointed. His voice is really nothing compared to what it was.
Cheers

Bunny is the most overrated singer in reggae currently, of the old names

he hasn't produced anything really interesting after Liberation, which is close to 20 years now

and before that he did Rock n Groove which is a fantastic record, but after that? as said only Liberation comes close

he is the most inconsistent of all three wailers, maybe the best voice of all three though, arguably

What did you think of Marketplace and Gumption? I thought they were decent and good additions to my colleciton.
