Lambert Douglas - a rare classic?

I picked up 'Living Man' by Lambert Douglas and thorougly enjoyed the roots vibes. I really like all of the tracks and the riddims provided by the Revolutionaries are solid. Interestingly, I did not find this album listed on any of the 'Best album of 1977' posts, and it was only mentioned in two other postings. I'm curious as to your opinon of this record.

We all know that the Gladiators, Yabby You, Barry Brown, and others have released great albums. But as my collection grows, I try to find the more obscure roots albums. I'm also interested to know if there are good roots albums by artists that do not receive much attention on this list. My vote for 'the best roots album that you've probably never heard of' is Living Man by Lambert Douglas. I know some of you have massive collections, and I look forward to your opinion.

I agree with haffe dread. A good LP, but there are plenty as good as this one.

Nevertheless I'm quite happy to have it cause it's an LP not that easy to find.

Easy and flat songs to lme, apart "injustice" not bad. Really not an album for the ones who like only dark/melancolic roots...

Really felt in love with this one!
Sure it's in an other style than deep roots productions of other artists, this LP stays in a relaxed rockers style all thrue, mainly carried by major chords.
The message sung by Lambert is as deep as the recordings of that time. His voice is very sweet and the revolutionaries are excelling in their style.

Great LP in my opinion, carrying peace&love vibes and thats the essential!
