Tetrack - Lets Get Started

Post by Jah Chicken »

Greetings Brethrens,
I just wanted to share my joy of finally getting around to listening to the "Tetrack - Let's Get Started" album produced by Augustus Pablo. This is a killer roots album! The riddims are hard as stone and the vocals are excellent, and incredibly eerie. It took me a while to decide whether or not I liked this album, but it now haunts me in my sleep. "Isn't It Time", "Judge and Jury", and currently most-of-all "Simple Things" are all excellent tracks (amongst others). I think that the sounds of "Simple Things" could probably borough it's way into an evildoer’s head as cause them to self-destruct. I was wondering if anyone else has opinions about this album?

Roots!!

Haven't heard the vocal version but I have Eastman Dub on cd and og cassette.
From the dubs and your review it has to be amazing.

I still can't believe I missed out on the double cd...it was available until recently but now I can't find.

Also check for the showcase LP called "Trouble", released by Gussie's Music Works Label, from 86 I think.

Not as strong as Let's Get Started, but still some great tunes for those who like harmony trios.

for those still not convinced; on the Augustus Pablo Story podcast on above mentioned link, you will find a short piece of music from this album.

Buy it, I got the greensleeves combination with Eastman Dub as additional bonus. Great album...
