When i first started listening ,i couldnt make a word out but it didnt matter. The harmony of the voices had me hooked. Now a days some songs still baffle me but it still doesnt matter.

When i was younger i use to think bob was singing "no woman no pride".
Brings up a question anyone else get lyrics messed up?..and what were they?

Yaah collu,
LOL,.......No Woman No Cry seems to be one of the most misunderstood songs in Reggae music.

I live in Germany and I remember way back in the 90s when I went to university. The female rights movement student girls discussed the lyrics of the song. The lesbian members of this group dammed the title that much that I thought they must have had some very bad herb that day. Due to their imperfect jamaican english skills they didn`t check that "no cry" meant "don`t cry".
So they didn`t get the meaning of this loving and consoling song. The picked on Bob and were mislead in the wrong direction.
Now I understand why such stupidness like "Sunshine Reggae" was written: For those who left their head at home.
A big German women`s magazine (Brigitte) had a report bout discrimination of women by the music industry...and guess...yes, right, the messed up with the same thing.
Maybe,...some of those poor student lesbo girls meanwhile work for this foolish magazine,... LOL..

Cheers, it`s never too late to listen carefully,...

most of our users (including me) aren't from an "english language country"

when you write (or speak) in a foreign language you still use your own language grammar and way of arranging words, verbs etc ...

so i guess there are bits of "kind of patois" in every thread ;)
