I just recently got I Stand Black by Delroy Williams on Makasound. I had never listened to him before, and I am really enjoying it. Great Pablo production. Not sure if this topic has been mentioned before, but his voice reminds me a lot of Ini Kamoze. Anybody else agree?

I agree, its an outstanding album compared to his other 2 rare records. dont get me wrong the other are great but "i stand black" is better, my personal opinion. and yes its produced my agustus pablo with vocals from norris reid, and hugh mundell as well on some songs.

Hopefully they included the discomixes version of Think Twice and All the Time... in the top 3 rarest Pablo discos... and murder!

Brilliant album. Bought when it came out and, thankfully still have it. Also recently bought the Makasound reissue for the additional tracks. Money well spent.

Only one criticism of the original album and that's "Breaking My Heart", which, interestingly, Makasound have decided not to include.

Litelet, they did include both of the discomix versions you mentioned! But the true scorher on the Makasound release IMHO is Babylon Boys (12" mix), which didn't belong to the original I Stand Black set. One of the heaviest tunes of all time, if you ask me!

Just dug out my copy of "I Stand Black" and notice both the cover and label states "Published By Pablo Publishers Ltd. 1982" (as opposed to 1984 in RA).

The label is "Message", but, unlike the RA entry, is the black version as opposed to the green.

The matrix number is DSR 3828.
I can't remember exactly when I bought it, but it probably was in the early 80's. Don't hold me to that though.

The cover has "Rockers Production" on it and it looks like one at the bottom of the RA entry.

If it is the Rockers version you now have the matrix number.
