What instruments you play?

I play the drums, though I'm just starting and I rap/sing/chant. I have a VERY amateur friend-based band that plays funk/reggae covers. Our current line up:
Myself on drums
Ben on drums when I'm singin'/rappin'
Ben on trumpet or guitar as needed
Jaimen on bass
Smily on lead guitar
Amanda on back-up vocals
John on bongos

So what can you do?

I play Bass Guitar, Guitar and Keyboards (keys at a pretty basic level). I also mix/produce and program drums using software (Reason 3). I now have recruited a guitarist and keyboard player. We are now playing live gigs under the name The MightyZ All Stars.

Sadly, the only instrument I can play is the record deck.

I played the viola at school!

I always wanted to play something, but things kind of got in the way (like having my fingers squashed in a bike accident when I started to learn guitar!)

Now I am too much of an old dog to learn new tricks so I'm sticking to mashing it up on the SL1210s.

Ah yes, I played the vocal chords - how could I forget those heady days in the 70s punk movement. *sigh*

And yep, I LOVE playing out with my vinyl, it gives me a huge buzz and I intend to do lots lots more of it!

I play Reason

Reason is the boss of software - I hate standard MIDI style sequencers, I know that they can do some amazing stuff, but they just seem to cramp my creativity. I like Reason because it is more like using real hardware stuff. I bought a multitracker so I could record in the 'old fashioned way' (see description above!)
