Re: i hate reggay !!
My first love is deep 70's roots, but I LOVE early reggae !!! To me, in terms of pure groove, it might be the best period in JA music. Check Max Romeo's tunes with the Hippy Boys... Nobody in the world can get close to that feeling ! I also love the "country bwoy" style that can be found in so many late 60's, early 70's songs. Of course, it doesn't have the rythmical power of later roots, but harmonies are often mind blowing !
Concerning the minor/major chord debate... I used to be a pure minor chord fanatic, until I started to play guitar... And realised that what matters, is the combination between chords. You can get some very melancolic tunes playing stricly major chords...

I'm going to have to get MightyZ explain this minor and major chord thing.
I don't remember much of what I learned in music at school so I don't really understand this discussion on chords!

Ask a keyboard player
Chords played in major key = easy and joyful (like pop)
chords played in minor key = dramatic, melancholic, sad, blues, dark....
Anyway, it all depends on the mood you're in...

Re: i hate reggay !!
Playing piano I always liked the 6th which makes a major chord sounds kind of minor
ie : C major 6th -> c-e-g-a
which is the equivalent of A minor 7th -> a-c-e-g
