Paying a lot for reggae?

Post by jah inna it »

I thought it was bad to spend hundreds on 1 reggae LP, but look at this...

http://cgi.ebay.com/Monster-in-my-pocke ... dZViewItem

...

not to mention the guy selling these is making a killing of something that came in cereal box.

Wow! I used to collect »Monster in my Pocket« when I was a kid. I remember that you put the bags in water and they dissolved just leaving the monster. :D

Why is this going for that amount - I am sure we still have some of these in the loft - is this one supposed to be special?

It's crazy isn't it - I checked the guys other auctions - about 10 of these things - mostly going for more than a $100

Who pays this money for this stuff? And would they like to buy any of the toys in my loft - I have the remnants of the 70's classic football game 'Striker' surely those little men with their 'real kicking action' must be worth about $50 each? ;)

Yeah at least when you shell out a high price, you get something worth having - instead of some stupid piece of plastic from a cereal box.
Honestly - how come I can never find these idiots when I am trying to sell my old junk?

That is what makes them idiots then! :D

That said, I have loads of junk that isn't Reggae vinyl to tempt them with! ;)

A quick scan of eBay reveals other 'monsters in my pocket' models failing to sell for even for pennies.

Maybe they are represses :D

I'm not quite sure why the canadian cereal box one's should go for so much - presumably they are rarer - but so what? They are still just stupid little pieces of plastic - and they don't have any killer music cut into the plastic like a good bit of Reggae vinyl!
