A bit of a spin off from the bad artwork thread elsewhere.
I've put it here in 'off topic' as I guess it's not strictly a reggae discussion.
But look inside your reggae sleeves. Some are recycled from other uses which I have always thought was really cool.
Ecologically sound? No, just a product of a third world economy doing what they do best, making best use of what little they have.
I thought it might be fun to list them here.
I'll start with this LP, which has an AJAX Laundry detergent package printed on the inside.
Sorry, but without splitting the sleeve open I can't show you the 'hidden' artwork!

Actually, this isn't the exact version of the cover I have, mine is Black card with blue silk screened lettering.
What's inside your album sleeve? Hidden artwork maybe?

I don't this anymore
But I'm sure that my copy had been made from a Daz/Omo soap box!
I did have another with Tetley tea as well!

Great topic...thought I was the only one with one of these.
I have a Brigadier Jerry 12" on Supreme.
The inside (which was outside) is Lovindeer - Soca Knights.
I might have a recycled Yabby You/Vivian Jackson somewhere, i'll have to look.

Sold several years ago for a mere £20 to Sweet Memories record shop in Pompey - the guy there bought all my sleeves with pics inside - he loved those one's and was a big fan of studio one and old time stuff (he also is the one who got that Ghetto-ology dubwise in yellow vinyl off me
).

Of all the labels, Studio One possibly presents the most difficult task for collectors. It's a real minefield.
Like Lion says, you at first think you've got the original only to find later it ain't so.

True - I won't buy expensive Studio One because of this - I just happily buy a cheaper repress - I have never paid more than £15 for an album other than a boxed set with several discs (39.95 for the Kraftwerk live boxed set is the top I have paid). I am a collector of the music - not rare discs for their own sake - I would only pay a lot for a disc if it was truly amazing and that was the only way I could get the sounds!
Having said that, I have owned and still own some rare collectables, such as the 1969 pressing of 'The Upsetter' - but this originally cost £1 from the Oxfam charity shop!

How much have you got?
Black Ark in Dub is a little bit special to me - not because of any rarity value, but this copy is the very copy that I used to initiate a fair number of my biker friends to Reggae in 'Nelson Road Project'.
The hapless bikers were steeped in Rock and resistant to Reggae, so we used a combination of mind altering substances and loud music from 3 key albums:
Black Ark in Dub
World War III
I Wah Dub
I don't really know what happened to my copy of World War III (I'm still convinced it disappeared into the resonators collection - but he denies it!), but I still have the original copies of I Wah Dub and Black Ark in Dub. Thanks to you I have a copy again of the original version of World War III!
