Culture & Don Carlos - Roots & Culture

Post by todd »

I've never seen this record before. Anybody have it? Do they all sing together...or is one side Culture and the other side Don Carlos? Anybody willing to trade or make me a copy please? Thank you.

Ok...looks like there was a post about this record just two days ago. It appears that it is going to be re-released next month. So...crank call. Sorry.

Some good tunes on both sides, especially the Culture which is not fronted by Joseph Hill this time but another singer from Culture, Albert (whatshisname). Best ones are imo "O Girl", "Roots Girl" and "Jah Tabernacle"

I bought the disc with the sole intent of getting the Don Carlos song Mr. Sun, for whatever reasons we all have favorite tunes and this has long been one of mind, but haven't heard it for years since I unloaded all my LPs 10 years ago. It's a nice disc.

I have to say I've had this Lp a couple times and it never hit me
over the head. It also used to fetch $100+ which made it much
easier to let go.
The Don Carlos that really kills me is Don Carlos & Gold-Plantation
on the UK CSA label, the version of "Declaration of Rights" on that
lp is PURE FIRE!

Todd: I'm not so sure that they will repress these albums on vinyl (most likely just CD) but if you want a copy of The Don Carlos & Culture clashon on vinyl just PM me.

Chris: the LP version does not have the song Mr. Sun on it (do you mean COMPACT disc?), However I know it does come on a JAh Guidance 12" disco (Produced by Niney the Observer actually-not Junjo as the album is credited to). Great song as you say.

And somebody had to comment on the WIcked wicked artwork on the cover sleeve (front and back)! Good Stuff. ADam
