New Roots Archives Features

Dear Friends,

We are pleased to announce some new major upgrades at Roots-Archives :

- youtube videos added to lots of artists pages (more than 500 videos already added)
- a brand new homepage dedicated to new CD & LP releases, latest forum threads, random youtube videos and random albums artwork
- a new search tool more efficient
- a brand new 2007 releases page including the current month releases and forthcoming releases announced by record companies
- official roots archives reviews of albums

First i would like to say R.A is the foremost complete reggae refrence source on the web.Thanks to the efforts of all those who create it and strive to improve it.
Second this new stylee,perhaps i just have to get use to it,But initial thoughts are it is too busy on the home page now.Perhaps links within your homepage to the new releases and videos would be better.Both of wich are really cool features wich would definately enhance this site even more.I maybe be old school but i did like the simple home page.Now not meaning to be insulting but its another web page trying to cram much flash and dash into the users cranium.
Anyway you do it R.A ,thanks for your excellent efforts.

I think the new front page is great. It was basically wasted space before. I love how the Web has become more dynamic and interactive in the last few years with the advent of AJAX and the ilk. It's a far cry from when I started out in 1995.

So there are reviews here now? I haven't seen any... are they going to be added in the future? I'd suggest making a list of albums that have been reviewed so people can find them easier. Also, if you are in need of reviewers I'd be happy to volunteer.

I think the new front page is great. It was basically wasted space before.

Indeed I was bored of this old homepage which had no interest (except the random artwork). We didn't put the videos on auto-play so that it shouldn't disturb anyone. And I think the new 2007 releases should be interesting for anyone loving reggae (except original vinyl-only collectors).

As for the reviews only a few have been made for now :

Yes,ok i am already use to it very nice,i like how when you clik on the new releases a new page does not appear,rather it just pops up right there.And as you mentioned the video does not play,or music automatically...i cant stand that.So R.A your flash and dash is very good with some thinking put into it.I should have tested a few times before replying..anyway Cheers.also can we review 7s or other singles.?
