Re: Channel One...
since thread name is channel 1 im gonna put all my questions from now in this thread.
i would like to know if the albums they put out iz a whole production or did they sometimes use different recordings from different musicians for one album? im not sure because im not that deep with foundation music and nowdays the most albums are some unspectacular single compilations from diff label and no studio work at all, i know in past they used to stay on one ting till it dun. so watz the deal?

This is a difficult question to answer fully. Yes the majority are one group of musicians, but they were not exclucive on all prod. coming out of Channel One. You will find Roots Radics, Revolutionaires & Agrovators all recording @ Channel One as a 'house' band. It was also very common not to voice the prod. @ Channel One but to take them over to Tubby's or Harry J's for voicing & final mix down.
Guidance.

Re: Channel One...
Like most of the reggae studio's output, it's all about mix ups, versions, mash ups and general wholesale remixing old tapes or riddims into new releases.
You might find a Channel One production as a dub, and then find it again as another dub and as several vocal versions also.
Some LPs may be a 'complete' production, recorded in one. But even then you'll keep hearing parts of that production elsewhere on 7s, 12s and other LPs.
Reggae is all about version stylee.
