Hi takk,
if you're referring to 'Holligan Dub' from the album 'Sample Dub' then you are quite close to hit. The dub is taken from John Holt's 'Change your Style', a track which is connected to the Paragons in appearing on Studio One's 'Paragons & friends' album.
Greetings
There is 'Hooligan' by the Wailers, off course
recorded for Studio One, can be found on 'One Love' or 'Simmer down' on Heartbeat records.
Though this is a different story and nothing to do with the Wailing Souls.
'Hooligan Stew' by Junior Delgado (from 'Dance A Dub'). I remember some English band in the early 1980's who used the same riddim from this song - I think it was Ruts (Ruts DC).
'Hooligan' by Clement Dodd & Tyrone Evans (from 'Studio One Dub').
I UNDERSTAND ALL THAT BUT THE WAILING SOULS NOT THE WAILERS DIDNT THEY SING "HOOLIGAN" FOR STUDIO ONE CAUSE THERE IS 2 VERSIONS 1 WAS ON A 45' AND THE OTHER ON SQUARE DEAL.
Hi 'arize',
yep, track 'Hooligan Race' is on the 'Square Deal' album for Studio One by Wailing Souls. It is a re-do of an old (1981) song they did originally for Sly & Robbie's Taxi label.
Greetings
bellyman i was talking about the souljazz records album, "studio one dub".
