Post by dan »

hi everyone!
i'm wondering if someone can give some tips for neo-dub steppas sound..

i'm looking for some tunes in this style but much faster and without lyrics:

http://www.rockersuptown.de/catalog/mp3/10_theysay.mp3 (king general - they say)
http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF260198-01-01-02.mp3 (nucleus roots)

do you have any suggestions?

thanks in advance,

Hi,

some more suggestions from me - I've been quite into uk dub and the like lately...

Labels to check out:
- Conscious Sounds
- Jah Tubbys
- Scoops
- Deep Root

Artists:
- Kenny Knots
- Brother Culture
- Kanka
- Mungo's Hifi ("Songs of Zion"-Riddim is nice!)
- Vibronics
- Pablo Gad (The Errol-Earthquake-produced album "Don't push Jah" is a burner)
- Twilight Circus Dub Soundsystem

Bless!

Also from the Reggae on Top All-Stars is Roots Dub Pt. 1.

For a historical overview the 4 Dubhead volumes from 95-98 introduce a lot of bands. Also from Dubhead, 2003's Dub Solidarity.

With vocals, but still interesting is a dozen remixes of an Alpha & Omega tune, Show Me a Purpose Versions by various artists.

Giving warmth to the digital sheen, Love Grocer emphasizes horns and woodwinds in their excursions.
