Mighty Artons

Who are they?
I just know this roots tune "penetrate" credited to Mighty Artons and Delroy Lawrence. It is a great tune, isn't it?
I would like to hear more of them so please advice me if you can.
By the way, if someone have a copy of "penetrate" to sell/trade, please send me an email.

I believe this is the same band as Mighty Abidjans who appear on Makasound "Wanted" compilation.

Could be wrong but I believe Mighty Abidjans do the vocal of "Penetrate" and the Mighty Artons are credited with the dub (could be the other way round).

Indeed, re penetrate it looks like the vocal is from almighty stones and the version from delroy lawrence and mighty artons.
Still, do you know any other release (vocal or riddim) from them? Shall I look for this compilation rootsman? any goodies on this one?

Heard *Pressure Them Jah* and *Clean Hands and Pure Heart* and both are weak, imo.

Dont think that compilation on Makasound is available any more.

I believe it got shelved over licencing issues.

There was a good Mighty Abidjans 7" on the April label "Whip Them Jah Jah" but the copy I have is a) cracked and b)way off centre (and looks to be a US pressing too, which you'd expect to be better than a JA one). Good tune though...

Are you sure that Mighty Abijans aka Fashoneers are same as Almighty Stone... I have a doubt bout this...

They were a group of guys from Old Harbour - I knew two of them, one is a keith cunnigham who is nowa doctor in Canada and one was called oney because he has one hand, he may still be around. they made about three songs circa 1975
