Hugh Mundell or Jacob Miller

Blessings!! I will like to know the opinion of the reggae fans about who of this to guys is the better. The two of them work close with augustus pablo and sang over the same riddim tracks.I like them very much even when their styles are very different.

i was waiting for that question :) puuh very hard question...i really love them both..but i would have to chose i would chose hugh mundell, because he didn't mix reggae with genres like new wave and pop..some of the inner circle jacob miller songs are too funky for me...

I'd say that if you take the best releases of each one, i'd put Jacob Miller as number one, but if you make a trade-off between quality and quantity, Hugh Mundell is easily number one.

i can't decide who i like the most.Mundell sound so sweet in every tune and Miller got some proyection in his style.if these two have live more they will be at the top of the reggae singers.i don't understand why people don't know much about them.

Simply put....Doesn't matter were you put Mundell with King Tubby, Perry, Junjo, Augustus, with roots radics or sly and robbie he sounded or would have sounded best with any of those guys. On the other hand, Jacob Miller's voice was your typical and his style did not differ, it was the same as most singers and would not go along with other styles such as junjo's.

I agree with ton1.
I don't like some Miller LPs as much as i like ALL the different releases I have heard from Mundell. I think it is a better overall artist, but if you choose the best stuff from both... I'm not sure who would I choose.
They are both two of my top 10 artists.
