First post, so hello to everyone love the site.
I've recently become more and more interested in starting to collect roots reggae and d-d-d u-u-u b-b-b dub vinyls.
I live in Seattle and have the zion's gate store to shop at, it's been a great help so far.
Where would you all suggest shopping for records online? Any advice about buying online?
Any resources to hear some of the records before purchasing?
Advice for a reggae-vinyls noob?
I have a fairly significant non-reggae vinyl collection, but nothing priced as high as some of the records I'm seeing on ebay etc. Anyhow, any help/advice would be much appreciated, thanks!

Try Ernie B,he is pretty good, there is also another reggae store thats located in Japan,ReggaeRecord.com .
I suppose that would be a good start for who is starting to buy vinyls.

Zion's Gate is a joke. Cool staff, but why not get all that stuff from Ernie B.'s much cheaper? They do.

Rezion, I hope you have very deep pockets, an understanding family and lots of space...
If you really want to collect vinyl, I suggest you buy a record cleaning machine *now*. You might live to regret that you ever started collecting vinyl but you'll never regret buying a record cleaning machine!

I use this one but there are similar machines and you can even make them.

I use the MKii PRO model.
It removes loads of surface noise and can even take out sticks and jumps. Your records last longer.
I love my Moth!

Please brother I have a hard enough time finding reggae OG's
in Seattle, I don't need any more competition.
All kidding aside, you won't be finding tons of good stuff here.
The bins are full of Bob Marley and not much else.
There have been to few good collections to surface in the last couple
years and I've been lucky enough to get some great stuff out of them.
But if you don't have connections with local dealers and shops, the cream
isn't gonna come your way easily.
If you want reissues Zions Gate has a great selection, that's not my thing so
I don't go there that much.
They do get OG's on occasion, but they want Popsike prices for rinked copies.
So needless to say I haven't actually bought anything there in at least 5 years.
Good luck, you'll need it.
