Radics have their own unique and distinct sound. Most of the Jujo Lawes productions had the Radics on the riddim tracks.

There were other bands of course with their own type sound. The "High Times" band is one example.

This is a very good question, however it's really difficult to explain this but it takes a couple of LP's to get used to id things. Roots Radics are a very good example, they just had their own sound.

I would just like to note, even though I agree bands did have thier own sound but a producer could have a band sound anyway he wanted. Positive Vibrations - Still Waiting, you would automatically concider radics on this but it is actually Sly, Robbie & The Revolutionaries - Version. (or atleast that is what is printed on the b-side)
:)
Guidance.

Yes, sometimes you get some surprises with the backing bands.

But roots radics (even if they made a lot of rockers style tunes) Had most of their tunes with a loud snare drum hit on the 3rd time, giving the tunes a slower move than the classic rockers ones. Correct me if this is a little bit restrictive...

I Would say that Channel One's music band, also had there particular sound, as studio one etc.. Then you can center the identification of the tunes by recognizing the studio it came from more than the players of instrument involved!

What prompted me to post the question was this album http://www.roots-archives.com/release/1930.Though its not written here i strongly believe from the sound itself the album was backed by Roots Radics Band.If not then it has to be Style and Flabba on Drum and Bass. How do you think?

If it was in the 60's, insert "All Stars" for the backing band's name :)
