Every one of the CDs is in topnotch shape, owned and treasured by a reggae music archivist who loathes the thought of scratches, stains, and neglect to CDs and their cases.

What makes this a good opportunity?

1) You have the luxury of getting 'holipa music at once. The day it arrives, the dub component of your collection will go up a couple notches, at least. The quality of your sleep that night will skyrocket. But I don't take payments for the therapeutic value of the transaction. That's just a gift on my part.

2) No having to go to different sources for a great, diverse lot of 15 CDs (which, when selected, will almost certainly not be available from any other one source).

3) Many of these are VERY hard to find on LP or CD; quite a few were pressed in limited quantities. Try, for example, looking up the Sensi Dub series, Reminah Dub, African Rubber Dub, His Majesty's Dub, etc. Very hard to find at all.

4) Since we all know rarity doesn't always translate into good music, look these albums up, or ask your reggae friends who are in the know about the calibre of music in this lot of 30. Even consider selling/giving some of the 15 that you win to others if you already own them.

It's a win-win prospect.

There are some nice albums but most of them are rather weak. Not a good dub selection at all.

Their is no need to rubbish the list, if its not to your taste or their are no titles of interest, say nothing.

After all, variety is the spice of life and if we all shared the same taste, the music for one would soon run pretty stale.

If these involvees are weak, then who's strong?

Not too sure about the specific case of The Unglued One who got all this started, but I think many folks fall into the trap of feeling that something has to be as rare as the gas collected from an emu's fart to be good. How many collectors have we encountered who have ultra rare garbage? Yeah, it's rare and all, but it sounds no better than anything else. One can spin a bunch of $3 reissues of strong 7 inches against them at a dance and send them home to lick their wounds in under 60 minutes.

Anyway, virtual discussions of this sort generally don't have merit. They degenerate when the most that can be said is "You sure do suck" . Yeah, 7th grade was a long time ago.

You have a genuinely good vibe about your question and you've asked it with respect.

The answer is that EVERY single one of them is legit. All bought throughout the 90s. Just a matter of striking when the iron was hot. Many I got from the RAS Records warehouse when I visited to do shopping. Some from Ernie B. And so on.

I'd never ever sell a burned copy of a CD. These are all the real deal and I'd be happy to pass on scanned images of the discs themselves to all nice and decent people like yourself.
