Or maybe music should be like written work, which goes completely out of copyright after a certain period?[/quote]

Beautiful idea.Leggo.Also i was thinking what profit dead singer would want? This should be a couple of exeptions to the piracy laws.

@Nefta @Leggo

The copyright on music is limited.

Unfortunately, in the United States, recordings do not go into the public domain until 2067 or something ridiculous like that. It was 2040 and they actually extended it!!!!

In the UK, the copyright on recordings expires 50 years after the recording was made-- that's 1957 folks. Which is one of the reasons that fans of American music love British and European imports.

music is better if it is free
the real pirates are those boneheadz collectors and their friends from music business.
music is not a piece of vinyl, neither a piece of plastic, music comes right thru your ears.
real music lovers don't care if music is on cd, vinyl, cassette, computer or mp3 player, they just enjoy it.

I have to say it once again but
REGGAE IS MUCH MORE THAN MUSIC
IT'S A MESSAGE THAT YOU HAVE TO SPREAD
NO MATTER IF YOU RESPECT BABYLON'S LAWS OR NOT

I agree with Dadi Digi. Society is rapidly forgetting how to walk and talk!

someone said that music should be free... well, how wonderful, but how on earth do you think people can make back the investments on recording, pressing and releasing the stuff - all of this is costing them money, and you want it for free!?? sorry, i think this kind of talk is just bullcrap. end of story.

wise up.

wow! you'll get the nobel for that bit.

a few centuries ago there were people like you talking the same bullcrap (as you said it) about books... i don't know where you're living but you should know that you actually have access to books for free... how can you explain this? making a book is even more expensive than making a record... put your brain on that thing and let us know if something new happens.
to be continued :D
