This LP and that LP are the same LP

Post by leggo rocker »

Please name all the LPs you know that are the same as another (different label or artwork or name etc).

Exact same or same but just a very very slight difference in the mix qualifies for this little game. This is not about versions.

I would give some examples to start the ball rolling but, er, I can't think of any. Duh!

It's not lp, but cd. I think, that Heartbeat's Observation Station is collection of exactly the same tunes like some of their Reggae Greatest Hits...

Steel Pulse-Reggae Fever?
Black Uhuru-Love Crissis?

LP junior reid- see how me black see how me shine "original foreign mind" (black roots)
LP LP junior reid- original foreign mind (harry j)

the difference besides the cover and label being different is that the one on black roots has a tune called "cool breeze blowing" and the alternate song that replaces that on the one on harry j is the tune "thank you"

LP junior reid & leroy smart- face to face clash (sunset)
LP junior reid & leroy smart- back to back (volcano/ vp)

the difference is besides the cover and label is that the songs are switched up and the back to back album is mixed down a little different. also two tracks of junior reid are switched. the two on face to face have "honey honey" and "best friend granny" and the back to back album has "junior reid's "look how long" and "rock it so well".
important fact: on the original which was the face to face clash. junjo lawes released this album a few years after it was recorded. i think it was actually recorded like 82 then released in 85. junior reid was very upset that junjo released so long after, because it made junior reid look as if he wasn't current on the riddims.

LP voice of progress- minibus driver (negus roots)
LP voice of progress- shadow after dark (blue moon)

also different cover and label all songs are the same its just a slight difference in mix.
important fact: blue moon label nver got the rights nor permission from the palmer brothers of negus roots to release that album under there blue moon label. nor did they receive any type of royalties from it.

i have more like these in this subject, but i just put this one coz it was interesting even besides the fact of the different label and covers. i'll add more later. one of my favorite artists and that's why i also added as an example.

that was fun. looking forward to playing again.

[King Tubby - Rastafari Dub](http://www.roots-archives.com/release/4491) on Clocktower(Abraham) is comprised fully of tracks also on [Dub Gone Crazy](http://www.roots-archives.com/release/321) on Blood & Fire. I'm guessing the Abraham release is a bootleg.

Many of Dennis Browns Joe Gibbs output was put out by Lightning Records in the UK.

Indeed as were the "African Dub" series apart from chapters 4 & 5 which I have only ever seen on the Gibbs label itself.
