it seems that some people here are using rastafari as folklore... funny to talk like jamaicans, to brag on records you got, grow your hair, clothe like them but what about your lifestyle? your philosophy? maybe you think money is the only way to make an exchange...
sorry if I don't appreciate that much ras tafari and jamaican music becoming that phoney farce... some of my bredrins call them trust-a-fari... i call them boneheads cos that's what some of them look like (especially in the uk). is it that offensive? I apologize to people suffering because of their baldness.
I'm baldhead (i've never worn dreadlocks), I'm not rasta, I wear a pair of jean and a t-shirt and have never shouted "Jah Rastafari" in my whole life and so are the majority of reggae listeners and they are not less educated and conscious than Rastas or so-called Rastas. And even if you wear dreadlocks and look like a Rastas, shouting "Rastafari" every 2 seconds whereas you're not rasta at all doesn't mean you're not conscious and way more tolerant than you, that's just fashion and everyone can live it as he wants, I think you judge way too much, you're angry coz you and "your bredrins" are differents (or you think you are) from them while looking the same, THAT is an ego-trip, you would like people to be recognized as a true rasta when seeing you and be able to make the difference between you and "the others", between faith and fashion.

I personnaly like better to speak with a "fashion rasta" (even if I think it's a bit ridiculous) who is politically commited than to a dogmatic Rasta (which is a non-sense but does exist :) ).

Hope Oras doesn't mind my self-publicity - but then I am a struggling artist trying to get recognition, so what else am I supposed to do?

you're paying to put other people's work on internet and you call yourself an artist? I'm very surprised, I didn't know it was art.
Don't you realize you had said in another post that you didn't like people who keep music for themselves ? Is that remark logical so ? And what do you think about DJs and selectas ? They're not artists ?

Oras

I've closed this thread because it is worthless and disturbing.

Let's keep it sweet here.
