I chatted with Rico, Tan Tan and Winston Francis a couple of years ago backstage after a gig. Really cool guys - Rico is a musical God.

it's nice that you had such an opportunity meeting with vintage reggae artists such as bob peter jimmy cliff and most of all carly barrett.iam particularly interested in carly's interview if you ever recorded it.he hasn't gotten many interviews as he was oftentimes dubbed as a cool and maybe not that talkative.
did you have his interview or your reasoning on audio tape?

Well, in these few years I've been a reggae addicted, I didn't met many Legends, mostly because they don't come that often to brazil. But still there are a few nice reggae stars wich I had the pleasure to meet:

- Albert Griffths, Gallimore Sutherland, Earl "Bagga" Walker, Rudlowe "Ruddy" (The Gladiators - First time in 2001 @ Trade Roots Reggae, SD)
- Edi Fitzroy @ Trade Roots Reggae - 2001
- Al Griffths, Anthony Griffths, Vernon Sutherland, Gallimore Sutherland, David Madden (The Gladiators - Second Time in june 2007 @ Porto Alegre, Brazil)
- Clinton Fearon (October 2007 @ São Paulo, Brazil)

And most recently:

- Wiss, Skelly, Flabba Holt & Style Scott (Israel Vibration & Roots Radics - Exactly 2 days ago here @ Porto Alegre, Brazil)

My biggest dream was to someday meet the "maestro" Augustus Pablo. I know he was a very introspective person, often not seen in public and still mysterious in some way.

Unfortunately, he passed away in 1999 and I couldn't meet him in this journey, but I'd be very pleased to hear any stories of someone who might have known him personally.

I know this forum has a whole heap of *connoisseurs* so someone here must have met the man Augustus Pablo, IMHO one of the greatest artists and musician of the whole Jamaican History, and a true Rastafarian that never left his roots.

Blessings,
DJ Guno Santos
