Would someone tell me the specific studio tasks for;
1.Producer
2.Mixing Engineer
Is it possible for a person to be both at the same time?
When we say:
Producer: Junjo
Mixed by Scientist.
Who is more responsible for the nice output of the album and deserves more credit?

Re: Teach Me
Producers in JA is a complicated thing. Many producers did nothing more than provide the money and studio time. Junjo for an example often would not be present when recording and just return after a session to collect the tapes. Other producers where with the musicians in the studio and told them what and how to play it.
At a time in Studio One for an example it was more often (correct me if I'm wrong here) Leroy Sibbles that did the composition rather than Coxsone (who still was credited as the producer).

i think king jammys always have influence on everything that happens. fattis instead jus gather people toghether give them idea and collect the result. each man have him own way me i see myself in both positions and i am sure jammy did release already done riddims from S & C, in junjo case with scientist, its like dat, guess junjo had a idea that scientis can push the tapes again with his style so its like a an artist working over the riddim. instead of singin/dejayin he show his skill on mixing. so i see it. dunno if a true.

Re: Teach Me
From what i heard also Junjo was never there when the Radics were laying from cover versions to their own riddims, he left that job to Scientist but as far as artist recording he was mostly present until he started going to Long lengthed trips in NY and England.
As far as Studio one, i never knew it was Leroy Sibbles, i've always thought it was Jackie Mittoo

Re: Teach Me
I believe the producers always left some experience engineer or musican in charge of production.Im not sure if is was in treasure isle but i read somewhere that Tommy McCook was in charge as same as Leroy Sibbles...

i think coxsone dodd was a somebody who was not easy at all, i think he was pressuring the musicians to the max, my boss is like that same type but when him plan soppn him plan it proper.
