Re: Ready Or Not
Don't know but I'm astonished as I thought Osbourne had disappeared from the music scene between late 60s and late 70s, sounds like he hadn't or the recording date is false (1972) ?

Re: Ready Or Not
Thanks alot Bellyman, but, if it is true what you say.. why isn't it edited on the Roots Archive??Bellyman wrote:@Jah Chicken
The 'Ready or not' album really is a collection of singles produced by Winston Riley for his Techniques label in he early 70s. The Big Shot label put them together and released this album by crediting it to Johnny Osbourne though only four of his songs are featured here.
Ready or not, My name is Man, Purify my heart and Nyah man are Johnny's and they all are great.
Other songs feature Max Romeo (Nobody's child, Sexy Sadie, Evening News) and Prince Far I (Deck of Cards; great alternating version of this to Joe Gibbs' version) plus an unknown DJ and two dub/instrumental versions.

I RECALL OWNING AND PLAYING THIS LP BACK IN THE LATER 70s. I THINK IT'S ON THE TROJAN LABEL. OSBOURNE'S COVER OF "READY OR NOT" BY THE DELFONICS IS TRULY A MASTERPIECE. IT PLAYED AT MANY PARTIES AND WAS A LOCAL UNDERGROUND HIT. I HOPE IT'S RELEASE ON CD SOON. GLAD TO SEE SOMEONE DISCOVERED AND MENTIONED IT. THX & PX, LORD CHRIS
