Modern dub specialists US?

Post by Selector J »

An earlier thread ["Where is the Tubby of today?"](http://www.roots-archives.com/forum/read.php?2,38262) got me thinking, are there many dub specialists (in the vein of Jammy, Scientist, Tubby etc.) based in the US?

I only know of one, McPullish, and that's because I live in the same city as he does. He's quite good and pretty unique since he plays almost all of the instruments heard in his dubs, too.

But, there have to be others, right?

There are a few people who have roots in the US ska scene doing a fair bit of dub mixing such as: Victor Rice, Brian Dixon (under the name King Terror), Victor Axelrod (Ticklah).

not sure if he is considered a mixer or an instrumentalist cuz he does a bunch of stuff, but bill laswell lives in nyc
the electronic/dj/instrument duo/group called theivory corporation, who you;ve prolly heard of, aren't a roots dub band by any means but do a good job when they mix up dub tracks. they are out of dc.
and maybe the bullwackie crew in brooklyn/nyc?
