I have this one on a Green New York pressed record Leggo. At a guess this is a 90's effort which does not live up to much, imo that is.

I am willing to swap it if anyone is interested. As new condition in a plain 12" sleeve.

I agree DD, it's not one I'm likely to play again in the near future. I wonder what the source of it is? Anyone recognise the Matrix DLP? Is it a bootleg, overdubbed onto stolen tapes or something? The mystery is more exciting than the music, sadly.

DLP series are not bootlegs at all. This serie came out on the Studio One or Music Lab label. I have a couple of them:

DLP 100 > Jhonny & Jenny "Groovy Kind Of Love" // Glen Adams "Soulfull I" (S1 red & yellow label)

DLP 107 > Brigadier Jerry "Dance Ina Montreal" // Alphonso, R & Caribjamer "Maxie Waxie" (Music Lab)

DLP 114 > Jah Hugh "Down Presser Man" // Owen Gray "Feel Good" (S1 banner Fulton distri)

DLP 115 > Brigadier Jerry "Ram Dance Master" // Angelia Prince "No Bother With No Fuss" (S1 banner Fulton distri)

The first serie was issued in the early 80's. There are more or less 20 records. The DLP serie reappeared in the 90's for the record above and a couple of other one. Not as good as the first serie which contain some crucial Studio One sides.

Yes Leggo, this one apparantly is a tribute to Clement Dodd and my guess is that it was put together post Dodd's death? not sure.

It's mad cheesy though, the kinda chune that if you dropped in a dance peeps would run to the toilet quick fast ;-)

Owen Grey's version of "I Just Called to Say I Love You" on a sort of digitalised cut of "Heavenless" which came out on a Studio 1 7" in the 80s also plumbs new depths of cheesiness - but I kind of like it (better than Stevie's own version anyway).

Dadi Digit, if memory is OK this one come out as a white lab with "Coxsone's Music City" stamped on label. Early 90's business.

Wicked Intention - Maureen Thomas

is a digitalized old version, but this one is a very good one to compare that to other digitalised tunes..

Mine is a white label 12" that came in a generic studio one sleeve. i bought my copy from Dodd's daughter at Coxsone's store in Brooklyn in 2000.
