Greetings all,
I have been gratefully using RA for years and years, but I think this is my first time posting! First I just gotta thank all of the people that work so hard to make this an amazing, dependable resource for all! Now to my post...
The 2nd annual Joe Higgs Music Awards is in Boston, MA this year (add info to news section?), and as a writer for a local street paper, I have the privilege of interviewing Marcia Higgs, founder/organizer of the event and daughter of the late, great Joe Higgs. I obviously must keep the interview to the point of covering the event, but will certainly ask a few extra questions about her father (and to everyone else, the "Father of Reggae") since he is certainly one of the most important figures in reggae.
I plan on asking about any possible future reissues of his classic albums (Life of Contradiction, Unity is Power, etc.), and why there hasn't been a proper anthology or anything like that to keep his legacy available to the masses.
I have plenty of questions in mind, but I thought I'd open it up to everyone to see if anyone has any burning questions, ideas, or comments.... I obviously can't guarantee anything, but I'd love to get some feedback.
Peace,
John
PS- I'd also love to know if anyone attended the first JHMA in Florida last year...
