Not a bad track on it as far as I am concerned. Each to his own, of course.

Explain why you think it`s quite bad.The album is a compilation of tracks from various Lee Perry productions so it might not "flow" well. But all the tunes on it are corkers!Do realise that these tracks are from `76/`77.

Unless there are different versions,
(as is the case with SLY & ROBBIE:Reggae Greats)
these are all KILLA! classic tracks from classic albums.

Yeah maybe, I read that all you guys are saying that vinyl is better, but since I never even heard a reggae song on vinyl, I guess I don't know what I'm missing
Hmm, when I'm older and richer I'll go for vinyl. Untill then, I'll do it with CD's..

Re: Lee Perry: Reggae Greats
Just dug out the vinyl (22 years old!) and I don't think there is a major issue with the sound quality. Then again maybe that's my hearing!
I do think Trevor's right when he says the issue is with the flow of the album.
Survival, as you have it on CD, I would change the running order to this;
The Heptones - Party Time
Keith Rowe - Groovy Situation
George Faith - To Be A Lover
Junior Murvin - Police & Thieves
Lee Perry - Soul Fire
Max Romeo - War In A Babylon
Jah Lion - Wisdom
Lee Perry - Roast Fish & Cornbread
Prince Jazzbo - Croaking Lizard
Lee Perry - Dreadlocks In Moonlight
This has the more "soulful" numbers together at the front and then moves onto the more "rootsical" ones.
Hey Trevor, I know you love George Faith, but how about Keith Rowe's voice? Absolutely superb!

I guess it has some essential Perry stuff. Maybe you just don´t like Perry productions that much ??

Hi 6anbatte,
Yes ,Keith Rowe has a very good voice! You know how I rate my Rocksteady,my main diet, so I know of him more as Keith and Tex. As part of this duo, he`s supreme. Anyway, I`m going to " Stop That Train "-" Tonight " chill out, listen to " This Is My Song " and "I`ll Be Leaving On That Train " later.
