Deadly Headly Bennett Meets The Magnificent Ossie Scott

Post by 6anbatte »

Hi

Just taken a *flier* on this album and interested in knowing if anyone can shed any light on the following;

As you can see here - [Deadly Headly Bennett Meets The Magnificent Ossie Scott](http://www.xs4all.nl/~tapirs/carlalb.htm) - the Matrix Number is **CR1007** and the label is **Carl's Records**.

The album cover I have agrees with this and also states "*Distributed by Sonic Sounds*".

However, the actual record label is **Gorgon Records**, but also states "*Distributed by Sonic Sounds*".

The Matrix Number scratched into the record's runout is also different - **CR1003**.

**Carls/Headly Deadly** (sic)**/Ossie Scott** is also scratched into the runout.

Mis-matched album and cover? Gorgon and Carl's linked? Typically confusing JA issue? Me just being stupid and missing the glaringly obvious?

Any information gratefully accepted.

Thanks.

Carl's is probably a US press wereas your copy on Gorgon is the JA issue. Not uncommon to find many LP's like this.

There also many LP's that have the sleeve printed in JA although the record itself may be manufactured elsewhere. Jetstar in the UK had many many releases like this.

Hi Lion

Thanks for the link. I see there are a few tracks that are are both albums, but am not sure how it relates to my question. :)

I did take a flier on this album and, although it isn't a reggae album, I do like it. Reminds me of Maceo Parker in a very mellow mood.
