I enjoy the piano work on the Glady Unlimited album. Can anyone recommend other Gladstone LPs? Or even other piano oriented productions by other artists?

I have a mint original copy of this but I can't really get into it.
I considered selling it but haven't listed it yet, probably because it is so 'as new' despite being 35 years old. Sad as it sounds, I get pleasure from seeing an old record in such great shape.
Am I unwell? Yep, serious case of Vinylitus.

"gladdy unlimited" and"it may sound silly" are my all-time gladstone anderson fav.they were both on moodisc,produced by harrie mudie.from 1972 and 1977.i love piano and organ
i have never seen the piano given such a leading role in reggae in ja music,unless it is by the likes of cecyl lloyd in the very beginning.
just grab that "it may sound silly" and enjoy the piano and the string orchestra

There is a wonderful DVD made recently called RUFFN' TUFF
which features GLADDY, with reworkings of his tunes plus originals and also interviews with him, Lynn Taitt, Alton Ellis, Johnny Moore and several other foundation artists.
A soundtrack Cd is also available ( I have both )
I highly recommend them.
Other artists you might want to check
WINSTON WRIGHT
[cover=3291,3541]
MONTY ALEXANDER
(and for keys of course JACKIE MITTOO )

Re: Gladstone Anderson
He can really sings besides being an excellent musician overall. Recorded nice heavy rhythms along the Roots Radics around early 80's. I believe that he did some vocal stuff in the late 70's too. There's a 7''called "Rockers" that sounds exactly like the music from that time. Sings for today & tomorrow is just a ruff album. Hard rhythms, great vocals & backing vocals and an deep message with strong lyrics. One of my favorites. Peace
